The emergence of PEEK (polyetheretherketone) has opened up a new path for the sealing technology of reciprocating compressors. Through repeated design, testing and evaluation of medium- and high-pressure differential piston rings at high temperature and pressure, a practical technology with new materials, new designs and new processes has been developed that is feasible, reliable and suitable for long-term operation.
Product advantages:
(1) High strength: The mechanical properties of PEEK are far superior to those of PTFE, making it a high-strength resin material.
(2) Both toughness and rigidity: With good balance and hardness, piston rings under high pressure do not deform or shed material under reciprocating impact. Rings for low pressure differentials do not require elastic rings and can automatically press against the cylinder wall.
(3) Fatigue resistance, creep resistance and no cold flow.
Under alternating stress loads, its excellent fatigue resistance is the best among all plastics and comparable to aluminum alloys. Its rigidity remains good below 260°C.
(4) Heat resistance: The reinforced heat deflection temperature can reach over 300°C. The theoretical continuous use temperature is measured at 260°C. 160°C is the higher parameter of the compressor design value; as the temperature rises further, the mechanical properties of PEEK decrease linearly.
(5) Wear resistance: Among all plastics, PEEK has excellent sliding characteristics. The friction coefficient of piston rings produced by Changchun Tianhang is between 0.15 and 0.30, suitable for applications requiring low friction coefficient and wear resistance, and is not prone to damaging the mating surface.

(7) PV value: It varies with speed, temperature, load and the mating surface, and is several times greater than commonly used polymer materials.
(8) Corrosion resistance: It dissolves only in concentrated sulfuric acid among acids and bases, and is unaffected by common chemicals.
